This post is about rainwater harvesting system design.
Rainwater harvesting system is a system that help us to harvest rainwater and store it into the system or infiltrate it into the ground.
This article is about our rainwater harvesting system design.
From the picture above we can see there’s 3 sets of rainwater pretreatment devices, they are Interception basket device, First flush device and Automatic rainwater filter.
The function of the interception basket device is to intercept large debris, such as leaves, grass and other large particle dirt, there’s a stainless steel basket inside, we can pull it out by hand to clean the dirt it caught.
We use first flush device to discharge the dirty water, at the bottom there’s a pipe connected it with the municipal drainage pipe, at the beginning of rainfall, the rainwater is very dirty, so we have to discard these dirty water. We use rainwater flow quantity to controll this device, when the water flow quantity is large enough, the water becomes more clean at that time, and the water will be directed into the automatic rainwater filter.
As to the automatic rainwater filter device, when the water come into this device, the water is already much clean because it has no large particle dirt and the first flush deive already discard the dirty water, now it can continue to make the rainwater more clean by further filtering the water. And the filtered water is now suitable for storing into the tank system.
Pipe Connection box, this is a invention of our rainwater harvesting product. With this box we can more easily connect the pipe into the tank system. Before we use to break some part of the tank to allow the pipe into the tank system, or cut a hole on the side plate to allow in the pipe. With this box, inlet pipe or outlet pipe can be conveniently and firmly connected.
On the top of the tank system, there’s inspection chamber, which allow us to inspect the situation of the inside of the system
The large part is the tank system, it consist of many geocellular module. Side plates is for the perimeter of the tank system . Side plates are only need at the four sides of the tank system. We only use the top cover on the top of the tank system.
Geotextile is a must for such a system. It is a permiable material that allows the water infiltrate through it. When we make a rainwater infiltration system, we need geotextile. When we make a rainwater attenuation system, we need geotextile, in this application it provides protection for geomembrane.
We only use geomembrane for rainwater attenuation system. It is a non-permiable material, with it we can hold the water inside the space which it makes.
